GPS Waypoints Lite is a surveying application for iPhone that enables users to collect, classify, and manage geographic data using the built-in positioning services of smartphone devices. The application supports the creation and organization of Waypoints (points) and Paths (routes), allowing users to work with spatial data in a structured way.

In addition to collecting data in the field, the app allows users to import information from external surveys and visualize it on maps, as well as obtain directions and distances between points. It also supports the creation and classification of points, lines, and polygons, which can be organized using customizable Themes and Tags to suit different types of projects.

GPS Waypoints Lite features an easy-to-use interface, making it suitable for both professional applications—such as earth sciences, engineering, and environmental studies—and personal activities like outdoor navigation and tourism. When launched, the application opens on the Dashboard, where users can view their current position along with satellite information related to data acquisition.

The app includes tools for importing and exporting data in standard formats such as CSV, GeoJSON, KML, and GPX, enabling interoperability with other platforms and applications. Users can also backup and restore their data, ensuring project continuity across devices.

GPS Waypoints Lite is available in two modes: a Free version, which includes basic surveying and tracking functionalities with advertisements, and a Premium version, which offers advanced features for professional use, such as automated data collection and compatibility with high-precision external GNSS receivers. An additional Maps add-on provides enhanced spatial visualization through integration with OpenStreetMap.
